H. Val Hafen, CPA
H. Val Hafen established Hafen | Buckner in 1970 and although now semi-retired, still lends a hand during the busy tax season.
Val’s strong commitment and hard work has made Hafen | Buckner growth and stability possible.
H. Wayne Everett, CPA
H. Wayne Everett has worked for Hafen | Buckner since 1979. He first served as a staff accountant with our firm for eight years performing audits, compilations and reviews. He also prepared tax returns and performed other general accounting services for our clients.
Wayne became a shareholder in 1987. He is now responsible for planning and conducting audits for various governmental clients, including counties, school districts, municipalities, 401(k) Plans and not-for-profit organizations. Wayne also works with tax clients, including individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts. He prepares and supervises the preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements.
George B. Graff, CPA/ABV/CFF, CMEA
George joined the firm in 1984 becoming a shareholder in 1991. He has extensive experience in business and individual tax planning and preparation, small business accounting and consulting but over the last twenty years has focused his expertise in the areas of forensic accounting, litigation support, and valuations of closely held businesses.
George earned the special designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) in 1994 from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts then went on to become certified in business valuation (ABV) and financial forensics (CFF) with the American Institude of Certified Public Accountants. George has experience in valuing businesses and performing forensic accounting and litigation support for many purposes including the purchase or sale of business, franchise evaluations, estate and gift taxes, buy/sell agreements, succession planning and divorce.
He has experience in valuing businesses in a broad spectrum of industries that includes Mineral extraction & Manufacturing, Auto Dealerships, Tire Stores, Auto Service, Construction, Food Service, Funeral Directors, Retail, Transportation, Health Care to name only a few.
George is also certified to perform appraisals of all types of machinery and equipment. He holds the designation of Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser (CMEA) which he earned from the NEBB Institute.
Tadd W. Hafen, CPA, CVA
Tadd began his career with our firm while attending college, and became a shareholder in 2001. He has extensive knowledge of computer software, experience in preparing Compiled and Reviewed financial statements, and preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
Tadd’s valuation expertise reaches across a vast number of industries including Mineral Extraction & Manufacturing, Auto Dealerships, Construction, Food Service, Funeral Directors, Retail, Transportation, Health Care to name only a few.
He is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and has experience in valuing businesses for purchase/sale of a business, financing franchise evaluation, estate and gift taxes, Buy/Sell agreements, succession planning and divorce.
Stephen G. Quinn, CPA
Stephen G. Quinn, CPA, has been at Hafen | Buckner since 1989. Upon graduation from BYU in 1978 he immediately began work as an internal auditor for US Steel then became a Controller for a California transportation
Stephen is now responsible for planning and conducting audits for various governmental clients, including counties, school districts, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations. Stephen has helped Hafen | Buckner’s numerous tax clients, including
individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts.
J. Chad Michaeli, CPA
Chad Michaeli, CPA, began employment with Hafen | Buckner as a staff accountant in 1993 upon graduating from Southern Utah University with a Masters of Accountancy. He has extensive experience in business and individual tax planning and preparation while his career has been focused in financial auditing, particularly specializing in school district and governmental auditing.
